Martina Dimoska is the space professional we love following! Recently on her social media, she posted her latest achievement, she just earned her NASTAR Wings!
This means that miss Dimoska is certified for Suborbital Space Flight from the NASTAR Center. The main difference between orbital and suborbital flight is the speed at which a vehicle is traveling. An orbital spacecraft must achieve what is known as orbital velocity, whereas a suborbital rocket flies at a speed below that.
ETC’s National Aerospace Training and Research (NASTAR) Center is the first, and so far from what we could research the only one within the US as of today, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved center able to meet the training requirements for commercial human spaceflight (14 CFR § 460.5).
It is recognized as the leader in orbital and suborbital spaceflight training and is known for its Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) program for commercial aviators. Through their facilities, they train Astronauts from the likes of SpaceX, Axiom Space, and Virgin Galactic.

We are so glad that a Balkan woman is reaching the unreachable and setting a new personal record of how far she can push herself. She was experiencing some serious Gs in the centrifuge!
